Ministries & Organizations
- Liturgical Ministry: The services and sacraments of our church afford us the opportunity to worship and pray as a community. Supporting the Liturgical Ministry with your regular attendance and faithful participation in the sacramental life of the Church is the most important aspect of life of an Orthodox Christian.
- Altar Boys: Our devoted altar boys learn about our faith by actively participating in the Divine Liturgy and assisting our priest
- Choir: Our church has an outstanding choir under the direction of Artie Palios. They chant the responses at the Sunday Divine Liturgy throughout the church year. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings.
- Bible Study: Bible study provides an opportunity for adults to study and discuss the Scriptures and relate God’s word to their daily lives.
- Orthodoxy 101: A four-week catechism class is offered in spring & fall of each year for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the Orthodox faith and those who are interested in converting to Orthodoxy.
- Adult Retreats: Three times a year our parish sponsors retreats to enrich and deepen our understanding of Orthodoxy. Father Stravos leads to inspiring, though provoking instructional and interactive retreats and in September we host a special guest speakers guest speaker who presents Orthodox topics of interest.
- Sunday School: Weekly Sunday School attendance provides for religious education of our precious children in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ and the faith and traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church.
- Joy/Hope (Junior Orthodox Youth): Youth ages 3-11 come together to make lifelong friends while enjoying a variety of fun Christian oriented activities.
- GOYA (Greek Orthodox Youth of America): Young people ages 12-18 participate in a variety of spiritual and social activities. The GOYA sponsors our Lenten retreat each spring.
- Junior Olympics: A fun and exciting annual athletic competition held for GOYA Chapter of Tampa Bay and surrounding areas.
- Orthodox Young Professionals (OYP): Young adults ages 22-45 come together for fellowship, socializing and deepening of their spirituality. The OYP sponsors spiritual retreats for the adults of our parish.
- Greek Dance Groups: The Glendi Dancer ages 12 – 18 and Panigyri Dancer (adult) wear authentic costumes and perform at our annual festival and cultural celebrations though-out the year and energetically represent our rich Hellenic culture.
- Young at Heart: Our vibrant senior group meets monthly for fellowship. They enjoy road trips to several Florida churches & monasteries, enjoy’s fellowship cruises and recently traveled together to Greece.
- Philoptochos: The annunciation Chapter of the Ladies Philoptochos Society is a women’s organization of the parish dedicated to providing aid for poor and needy and enriching our parish life.
- Annual Greek Festival: Promotes Christian Fellowship and is a wonderful way to share our Greek culture and hospitality with the Greater Tampa Bay community. Delicious Greek foods and pastries are enjoyed by all. Talented Greek musicians & dance groups of all ages offer lively performances and Father Stravos conducts fascinating church tours throughout the event.
- AHEPA & Daughters of Penelope: The mission of the AHEPA Family is to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family and Individual Excellence. The Daughters of Penelope was established as the Women's Affiliate of AHEPA.
